How much affection for Jesus do you have?

I think that for many Christians the idea of serving God with your emotions is a bad thing.  I can’t tell you how many times in my life that I have heard Christians warn about getting carried away their emotions.  That emotions will always lead us down the wrong path and we need to be stoic and logical and that this will keep us right with God.  The problem with this reasoning is that while I believe we are not supposed to check our brains at the door, the fruit of this lack of emotion always seems to be a religious spirit.  And unfortunately that religious spirit is more concerned about knowing the right things then it is at actually doing anything of value for the Lord.  Actions always follow passions and passions are birthed out of what you love.  I am somewhat convinced that the church is largely inactive today because it really isn’t in love with Jesus.  We need our affections for Jesus to run deep.  I personally want to get caught up in my emotions and I want to let them drive me to action.
