Who can we count on to deliver us in times of trouble?

Life presents it challenges and there are times when we all feel the pressures of life, but the question we need to ask is who do we turn to in difficulty?  I think there is the answer we’d all like to give, especially as Christians we would all like to say that we turn to God.  The truth is that it is when we are our lowest and most distressed that we often try our hardest to solve our own problems.  What’s worse is that as we struggle for a solution we are easily tempted to grasp at any straw that provides us an out.  This is where we become the most vulnerable.  Mostly because the enemy knows that we are stressed enough and often weak enough to fall for his schemes.  What would happen if instead of trusting in ourselves or any other source we truly did turn to the Lord as soon as we were pressed?  What if we just learned to believe God for the solution and not get tempted by anything less?  How would that change our lives?  I think the answer is that we would live very differently.

In this Sermon

We are going to explore the temptations we face when we are troubled.  We’ll also take a look at how we can learn to depend on God for help.
