What does the Bible means when it refers to the Word of God?

As a young Christian, I always thought that the Word of God referred specifically to the Bible.  As I got older and I was introduced to the gifts of the Holy Spirit and as I began to hear from the Lord my idea of the Word of God expanded to include not only what God had said in the scripture, but also what He was saying now.  Of course being diligent and wanting to understand if everything I had come to learn was theologically Biblical, I started to take a look at what words the Bible used that had been translated into Word of God, or even word.  That opened my eyes to the very distinct words that had been used by Jesus in His teachings and the writing of the Apostles.  The words were “logos” and “Rhema” and they are both powerful and distinct.

In this Sermon

We are going to close out our series about the great and glorious God that we serve by taking a look at the power of God’s word.  We’ll look into the weight that it carries and what affect it has on our life and faith.
