Reaching out to people who need the Gospel the most is messy business.  He Who Has Ears…Listen!

The people who need Jesus the most are probably the ones that we most likely would rather avoid.  When Jesus was ministering to the world around Him, He spent a lot of time with those who were rejected because they were sinners and scoundrels.  He loved the prostitute, the fornicator, the adulterer, the idolator, the tax collector, and even the unclean.  Of course He came to save them from their condition and the lives that they were living, but He ran to them and not from them.  It cost Him His reputation as people questioned how good of a teacher and prophet He was if He surrounded Himself by these kinds of people.  Once He was even questioned about it and His answer was simple yet eye opening, He said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.”  Here’s the rub, if we are continuing the ministry of Christ then it should go without saying that we too are called to the sick, because the gospel is the cure that they need.

In this Sermon

We are going to take a look at just who it is that we should be ministering to?  We’ll also look at how if we are going to minister to the sick that just like Jesus people might question us and it might get a little messy, but it is exactly where we need to be.
