We are trained to be self centered and self nurturing. We want everything to revolve around us and far too often we interpret our present situations by how it is effecting us. Even worse we like being the center of attention and we grumble when we are not. Is this how it is meant to be for those who follow Christ? Do we serve something bigger than our ego? If so what is the Christian life meant to be about? Is it about us and all that we receive from following Christ or is it about something greater?
