What was accomplished at the Resurrection?

In order to answer that question, we must understand what Jesus’ mission and purpose was.  Did He come to spread love around?  Did He come to correct the waywardness of religion?  Did He come to inspire us to help others?  The truth is that Jesus came to deal with our sin and reunite us with God.  So the Holy Week is a fulfillment of His mission and while most Christians are quick to point to the Crucifixion as the means in which Jesus “paid for our sins”, we need to understand that the resurrection has a place in Jesus’ mission as well.  Without the resurrection, the crucifixion is pointless.

In This Sermon

We’ll take a look into what Jesus’ purpose really was and how He spoke about it quite frequently over the course of His life and ministry.  Then we’ll take a look at the resurrection and see how that impacts Jesus’ own teaching about why He came.
