Are You A Servant?

We have all heard the pitches to serve within the local church and a part of how we serve the Lord is in the local congregation. It only makes sense to serve God in the church since it is here where we seek to encourage each other, and we pour into each other’s faith. Church should be a place to give more than just a place to receive.  However, the call to be a servant in the word of God is so much greater than the call to serve in the local church. If we are not careful we may only associate being a servant to the things that we do in church or maybe in how we volunteer in the community and miss out on what God is really calling us to do. We are not called into the act of serving but we are actually called into a lifestyle of serving. The difference may seem like a matter of semantics, but it makes a huge difference in the effectiveness of the gospel if we get it right. So, it is more than just words. We need to understand what God is calling us to when He calls us to serve.

In this Sermon

We are going to look at three times where Jesus’ specifically taught about serving others and how Jesus related success with humility.
