What are your priorities?

What are you living for? What will the summary of your life be? You see all of us have been given so many years to live and none of us exactly knows what that timeframe is. One day our lives will come to an end and how we spent our days will summarize what are lives were all about. Will your life be defined by your job? Will your life be defined by your wealth? Will your life be defined by your possessions? Will your life be defined by your achievements? Have you ever honestly wondered how people will memorialize you? I think it’s a good exercise. Because we should consider what legacy we will leave behind. Here is the thing though. As Christians we recognize that our lives should speak about our faith. People should recognize that we had a faith in Jesus Christ. While I agree with that concept, I think that this is one of those areas where we are close, but no cigar. I believe that Jesus often is one pursuit among others that we have in life but for far too many Christians He is not the main pursuit. Pastor Bryan and I were talking about this a couple of weeks ago and he related it to a dresser. Is Jesus a drawer in the dresser of your life or is Jesus the dresser to which all of the other drawers get put into? It’s a great analogy and a great question. Either Jesus is something that we pursue amongst a whole host of other things or Jesus is the reason we live and everything else fits in or aligns with Him?
