Should we feel uncomfortable about what the Bible teaches us?

The truth is that the Bible teaches us what we need to know about how to live and please God.  It helps us understand the will of God and guides to eternity.  The problem with  that is that it tells us what we need to know, not what we want to hear.  In fact, the reason for the Bible is to lead us into truth.  Since the inclination of our hearts is evil, if we are left to our own devices we always gravitate to the corruption of our souls and the destruction of our lives and the lives of others.  So it is safe to say that the Bible stands in opposition to our corruption and will often leave us feeling provoked and uncomfortable.  However, that provocation is not a bad thing.  It is not meant to destroy us, but instead its intent is to call us to be uncomfortable with what we are doing and to seek change.

In this sermon

We are going to take a look at how the Bible demands better from us all and how we can work with the discomfort that stems from what the Bible teaches us.
