If you are going to rebuild, where do you start?

After Covid it seems like the whole world is in a season of rebuilding.  This is true of church.  I’ve spoken with pastors, community leaders, and business men and women and have discovered that attendance and involvement is down everywhere.  The truth is that people just got out of the routines that they had been in before and have not returned to them after the pandemic.  So we can wish that things would just return to how they used to be, or we can recognize that we have a unique opportunity to address the changes that have occurred and get back to the main mission of the church, to share the gospel.  So, the question becomes, where do you start?  Well, the good news is that we have several great examples of rebuilding found in the Bible, but perhaps there is no greater example than Nehemiah who was tasked by God to rebuild the city walls of Jerusalem and re-establish a pure worship of God in the temple.  So, if Nehemiah is the example, then what did he do?  Well, he did multiple things but the first thing he did was to fast and pray.

In this Sermon

We are going to take a look at the prayer that Nehemiah prayed when he found out that Jerusalem was in shambles and the people of God were shamed.  We’ll unlock 7 principles of his prayer that can offer us wisdom on how we can pray today for God to rebuild His church in this hour.
