What is the blessing of Covenant?

What happens after covenants are made with God in the Bible? Does something change in us when we make a vow to the Lord? The answer is that there is a change that occurs and we can see the effects of covenant in the Bible and in our own lives. We understand that there is something that changes on the day that you get married. Where once there were two different people living their own lives, after the wedding there is now a couple and as the Bible puts it, “the two become one”. We also see this same example in scripture when the Israelites made a covenant with God in the wilderness. Before that covenant they were not a people, they had no land, had no identity, they were just slaves in Egypt. But on the day that God laid out a covenant with them and they received it, then suddenly they were a people and they had a purpose and a place on earth.
