Are you a servant of all?
Jesus called us to be servants when we choose to follow Him. This is not some radical interpretation of scripture, but this was the heart of Jesus himself, that He came to serve us by offering Himself as a sacrifice in exchange for our sin so that we might be reunified with God. One of the greatest goals that we can shoot for is to be like Christ. So, if Christ was a servant and we want to be like Him then it goes without saying that we should want to be a servant as well. We should want to take on the heart and actions of a servant, knowing that in serving others, we advance the gospel and drawn people to Him. Being a servant is not something we choose to do when we feel up to it. It is also not just some lofty aspiration. It is synonymous with being a Christian. To say that we are a Christian is the same as saying that we are a servant and not just a servant, but a servant of God.
In This Sermon
We’re continuing in our series about being a servant and exploring four specific ways that the Bible says Christian servanthood looks like.
