On Thursday, March 29th, we are hosting a Maundy Thursday service starting at 7:00 PM. Join us as we reflect on the events surrounding the Last Supper. Our Maundy Thursday service is a solemn and sacred event.  It gives us each an opportunity to get our hearts and minds focused on one of the most important weeks in Christianity, the time when Jesus paid for our sins and rose victorious over sin and death.

On Good Friday at 7:00 PM we are getting together to Worship Together with other local churches at the Methodist Church. It's going to be a powerful time together and we'd like everyone to join us as we celebrate the life and ministry of Jesus Christ.

Join us Sunday, April 1st at 10:00 AM as we celebrate the victory of Christ through the resurrection. We're going to take a good look at why something so controversial as the resurrection was necessary.

On Saturday, April 21st, at 8:00AM we are holding our next Men's Connect monthly gathering at Family USA. It's an opportunity to connect with other men at the church and grow in your faith. Hope to see you there.

On Sunday morning, April 22nd, we are going to show some love to Monticello through acts of service.  We'll meet here at church for an abbreviated time of worship and then head on out into the community where we have several opportunities to serve.  You can either go to the park and help with a couple of projects there or head out to the fire and police departments to show some love as we hand out home made cookies.  We are also going to tear down a wall in between the current nursery and play room to create a much larger space as we prepare for Awana.

Also, we are going to have a pizza party directly after serving back at the church.

Please bring appropriate work clothes and gear if you plan on doing labor.  Also, there will not be any child care so you may need to plan accordingly.

If you are interested in helping out with our AWANA program which will start in September 2018, we want to hear from you.  Sherry and Kim are currently signing up volunteers and need your help.  If you are interested, please see Sherry or Kim on Sunday morning.

This month our Fifth Sunday Faith Fund is going to the Mobile Food Pantry here in Monticello.  The best part is that our offering will sponsor a LifeSong day with the food pantry, so not only will we be able to help them out financially, but we will get the opportunity to serve.

Join us on Family Sunday in May as we host our first ever Family Sunday Live.  Instead of our normal sermon time, Pastor Brad will lead a Q and A session where everyone is welcomed to contribute with questions via text, social media, and even live during the event.  There will be a specific topic for the morning and we'll give everyone the opportunity to ask questions ahead of time so that we can get the discussion rolling.  It's going to be a great opportunity to learn in a very informal interactive way.

Don't forget! If you weren't able to give last week for our Fifth Sunday Faith Fund, you still have a chance. You can give in person this Sunday at church (just designate your gift for the Fifth Sunday Faith Fund) or give through our online giving. All the proceeds will be given to the Mobile Food Pantry to help out Senior Citizens.

On Mother's Day we are continuing in our tradition of celebrating the Christian mom's among us.  We have a special gift for the women at church and as has become our custom, Colleen will be preaching a special sermon.  It's going to be a great morning!

Paxton has invited us to his house on Sunday morning (May 20th) at 8:00 AM for some homemade biscuits and gravy before church.  All men are welcomed to join.

On Sunday, June 3rd, we are going to honor our graduating High School Seniors.  Please join us as we send them off with prayer and a special inspirational gift from the congregation.

On Saturday, June 23rd, join us for some good old rootin’, tootin’, gun shootin’ fun! The day breaks down into two major events, the first being the Gun Shoot and the second is the family BBQ and Bonfire.
Gun Shoot: Located at Chad and Mandy Rardon. 5003 W 1200 N, Burnettsville, IN 47926.  9AM-12PM. If your the gunslinging type and need an excuse to fire off some rounds from your favorite handgun or rifle, then bring it on over. We’ll have skeet shooting and target practice throughout the morning. Please Note: We ask that everyone who attends this event is old enough and responsible to handle firearms safely around other people.
Family BBQ, Bonfire:  Located at the Stoll's Farm. 3508 N 1200 E, Idaville, IN 47950.  5PM-? That’s right, for everyone’s safety, we’ll take a break for a few hours to clean up and prepare the BBQ and Bonfire. LifeSong will be providing the main course and all we ask is that you bring a side and a drink(s) to share!  Also bring chairs, roasting sticks, and an awning if you’d like.

Everyone who has volunteered for Awana and anyone who might be interested in helping, there will be a short meeting immediately after church on Sunday.  We will decide on what night we will host Awana during the week and make sure everyone has the Awana training on their schedule.

Bryan and Michelle Ewing, candidates for the Youth/Worship position, will be joining us for the weekend of July 1st. We'd like everyone to be there on Sunday, July 1st during worship to meet them. Also we'd like everyone to participate in any program or event that is relevant to them or their family. We'll post a schedule ASAP.

On every Fifth Sunday we designate a special offering that goes to a special ministry or event at the church.

On Saturday, July 7th at 7PM we will be holding our annual Brookston Fireworks get together. Every year we reserve a section for seating and celebrating, so bring the whole family for an evening of fun.  Please bring a camp chair and/or blanket, a side dish to share and plenty of drinks for you and your loved ones. We also encourage that you bring games, toys, etc… to keep busy while we wait for the sun to go down.  It’s gonna be a great time. Hope to see you there!

On Saturday, August 4th at 9:00AM we will host a training for the Awana program. All volunteers are required to be there. Training will be conducted by the regional director of Awana to help us understand the finer details of the program and give us a jump start on our launch.

Join us on Sunday, August 5th, in the new Goat Pavilion at the Fair Grounds as all of the local churches worship the Lord together. Jack Roth from CFC will preach and worship will be led by the CFC worship team.

We are holding a community baptism at White Oaks on the Lake (formerly the Pirates Roost) on Sunday, August 12th at 1:00PM. We are gathering with several churches in the area and performing baptisms together. If you're interested in getting baptized, please see Pastor Brad.

Covenant Sunday is a meaningful ceremony in which we commit ourselves as a group to God, each other and the mission of the church.  We believe that Covenants are stronger than memberships and are better at unifying us in our purpose as a church.  A Covenant answers the following questions, who are we together and how can I help?

Join us on Saturday, September 22nd, starting at 9:00AM over at the Rardon's for our annual God, Guns, and More Guns, gun shoot.  We'll have skeet/clay pigeon shooting, targeting, Tannerite and more.  So bring out your guns and have a good time.

As always we recommend that anyone intending on shooting be old enough and responsible enough to handle shooting safely.

Youth Group-ers, come on out and have some fun we're heading out to the corn maze at 4:30PM and we'll wrap up the evening at the Wagner's for a fun filled BBQ.  You're going to want to be there.  The cost is only $6 per person.

On Saturday, November 3rd, we are holding a Church Cleaning/Honey-Do-List  Day.  We are going to start bright and early at 8:00 AM and try to wrap things up around noon.  We'd love for you to be there the whole time, but please come and help even if you can only be there for a short time, because every bit of help counts and is appreciated.  While we do have some cleaning items, I would suggest that you bring your own products to make things easy and to make sure you have what you need.  Likewise, if you are going to help with the Honey-Do-List, we will have some things available to use, but we suggest that you please bring your own tools and supplies to make it easier to get the job done right.

Here are some things that we need to get cleaned...

Each room needs a thorough wipe down, dusting, and deep cleaning.  Which includes, but is not limited to: Walls washed, cobwebs removed, cabinets cleaned, stuff sorted, toys disinfected, windows washed, carpets cleaned, bathrooms sanitized, and probably a bunch more.

Here are some things on the Honey-Do-List...

1. Steam Cleaning the Sanctuary, including some chairs.
2. Re-connecting the chairs together.
3. Building a small box to cover some electronics on the stage.
4. Putting casters on the foot benches in the youth/multi-purpose room.
5. Removing the back hallway cabinets.
6. Installing the coat hooks more securely in the back hallway.
7. Putting hooks in the cleaning closet for brooms and mops.
8. Securely re-hanging the covenant statements.
9. Re-organizing the storage room.

The youth is going bowling on Sunday afternoon starting at 1:00 PM.  The cost is only $8 per person.

On Sunday, November 18th we are holding our annual Praise-Giving Service.
Each year we spend the Sunday before Thanksgiving giving praise to God for the good things that he has done.  Every person is welcomed to share publicly how God has helped them through difficult situations, how He has blessed them, and even to thank God for the good friends or things that they have.  It is a beautiful reminder to every one that is there that we follow a good, kind and benevolent God.
So on this day in lieu of a sermon we turn the mic over to the congregation and anyone and everyone share from their hearts and praise God for His goodness.

On Sunday, November 18th at 6PM  we will be joining several other congregations to we worship the Lord together.  So come on out for a great evening of unity, worship and fellowship.

Join us on December 6th for Awana Movie Night where we are going to watch the movie "The Star".  It's going to be an evening of fun, filled with all kinds of treats and prizes for the kids to spend their Awana rewards on.  Things get started at 6:00PM and end at 8:00PM.  Make plans now to be there.

Join us on December 13th for our "End of the Semester" celebration.  It will be the last Awana before the new year and we're going out in style.  It's going to be an evening of fun as we celebrate a great semester of learning about God together.  Make sure to be there.

Our annual Christmas Eve Service is almost here and we are inviting you to join us for an evening celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ!
Our service is from 7:00-8:00 PM.
This year we have a special presentation of the Christmas story by our Children’s and Youth Ministry, worship with the LifeSong Worship Team, Communion, an encouraging message by Pastor Brad, and our traditional candle lighting.

On New Years Eve we are hosting our annual "Party with the Pastors".  It's a night of fun for the whole family.
We are going to eat, fellowship, and participate in a gob of games and activities for both adults and kids. Please bring drinks and finger food to share.
One activity that you can get a start on before the evening is decorating your very own Party with the Pastors Sign.  Prizes will be awarded for the fanciest.  We'll have time in the beginning of the party for people to color and create theirs, but you can get a head start and amp up the creativity.  Simply download the sign below, print and create.
