What does it mean to be a Disciple?
We live in a time where the word Christian can mean so many different things that we often have to precede the word with adjectives to help people understand what we mean when we say, “I am a Christian”. We often use words like spirit-filled, Bible believing, practicing, and born-again. Ironically these are all words that should go without saying. So when the word Christian has become inadequate in describing who we are, what word do we use? What sums up who we are? Of course we are Christians, but even more-so, we have been invited by Jesus to become disciples. At the center of all Christianity is a call to discipleship. What does it mean to be a disciple? What are the attributes of a disciple? These are things that we need to rediscover, especially if we want to develop a church that has its fingers on the pulse of Jesus’ mission for His people.
In this Sermon
In this sermon we’ll lay a foundation for understanding what discipleship is and why it is important, especially to LifeSong in this season.
