Our Covenant with Each Other
What Biblical Principles Do We Find In Our Covenant With Each Other?
As a church we seek to create a Biblical or Kingdom culture. It's not always easy because life is messy and although I wish that we all just got along perfectly, because after all we're Christians, that is not always the case. We all have good days and bad and there are times when familiarity breeds contempt. Honestly at times we can just rub each other the wrong way. So the question becomes, how can we create a Biblical culture within our church when the church is made up of imperfect broken people? Well, it's no big surprise, but God knew that we would struggle and so He created principles and guidelines to help us along the journey. In our covenant we highlight several of these important principles which if set in place create an atmosphere of Godliness and elevate our fellowship.
In this Sermon
We are taking a deeper look at the Covenant we have with each other, unpacking its principles, and determining how we can best apply these in our lives.
The Covenant Statement
It is our covenant that we will intentionally pursue honest, trustworthy and God honoring relationships with each other. We will seek to honor and respect each other, prefer each other, forgive each other, give each other the benefit of the doubt and find ways to show each other love so that we can demonstrate Kingdom living to the world around us. We invite God in His grace and mercy to bless our fellowship, to encourage our faith, to join our hearts together in unity, to move powerfully among us in our gatherings and as we minister and to create the culture of Heaven in our congregation.
